Winter Outside

Winter Outside
Winter outside
Now autumn is gone,
The shadows abide
And blooming are done;
What is it worth
This dark loneliness,
That now gives its birth
Right in the flesh.
What is allied
In this aeon,
Dark almond-eyed
To earth overdrawn;
Love is in dearth
Falling oblivious,
What might be worth
In dark deep fathomless.
Winter outside
With frost hereupon,
The rows alongside
In cold ties liaison;
Hope is in peace
With stillness out there,
Heavy are trees
Snow burden they share.
